What is the state of homelessness in Fort Collins?
Does housing people first really work?
What models for ending homelessness are already in action and how can we bring that success to Fort Collins?
This community learning event reflects upon one year of the Housing First Initiative and focuses on sharing data and outcomes of the project thus far, as well as the state of chronic homelessness in Fort Collins. A panel discussion will include multiple perspectives from case workers who work directly with people experiencing chronic homelessness and efforts to create a coordinated approach to making homelessness rare, short-lived and non-recurring. Participation is free and seats are limited.
This event will be held on Wednesday, September 5th at the Lincoln Center in the Columbine Room from 4:00pm-6:00pm.
We look forward to seeing many of you there!
The Housing First Initiative (HFI) is a two-year pilot project based at the Murphy Center. It is a partnership initiative between Homeward 2020 and Homeward Alliance. HFI collects and reports data on persons experiencing homelessness in Fort Collins for six months or longer, pilots housing first solutions through local partnerships, and provides intensive case management to transition participants from homelessness to housing.
